Simon Cade is one of the founding members of The Last Act Players and the company's principal writer-performer. A trained actor with a fondness for difficult rooms, difficult audiences and difficult people, Simon specialises in characters who know more than they are saying and regret almost all of it.
His work with the company has included detectives, vicars, disgraced barristers, haunted academics, suspicious uncles and, on one memorable occasion, a butler who had to die twice because someone missed their cue.
Offstage, Simon is charming, exhausted and permanently balancing art, invoices and the faint possibility that his car may not start. He has a gift for reading people, which is useful in performance and deeply inconvenient in real life.
Within The Last Act Players, Simon is usually the person asked to "just have a quiet word" with someone. This has never once resulted in anything quiet.
